Subject Art– We will utilize award winning painting “Conservatory”. Special Merit Award 2016. Light Space and Time Abstract Competition.

Class Objective- pouring, limited brush work with focus on easily making paint mixtures   We will learn to make our own paint with the focus on creating a painting with depth and brilliant color

Learn Abstract Environmental Art. Give yourself permission to find that inner voice though a sense of play with methods of uncovering hidden treasures of nature as they emerge. Use materials to advance your fine art skill gently forward. We pour, mix, dab and spill confidently with the understanding that abstraction has form. We encourage a joyful, laugh out loud, make friends, no stress, peaceful break from busy life.

We will create the abstract focusing  form and shape to create a loose interpretation of  landscape.  Use the colors and paints of your choice.

Paint Colors –  liquitex hooker green (when you open it it looks black not green) , These are colors for this class from your general supply list- Liquitex heavy body- white, cadmium yellow, portrait pink alizerin crimson,  Bring your Gloss Medium, or mat medium

Special Supplies – Golden- high flow phtahlo blue, white, purple, white, yellow. (If you just want to bring specific colors). Dennis at DK Art Supply has made it easy. He has ordered kits of  Golden high-flow paint. You can use different colors and create your own combination. sponge roller There are two packages available. One is Opaque and one is transparent. If you only can purchase one kit get the opaque kit).   If you have any flow paints you can bring them.This is your chance to bring your  acrylic paints to class from different brands.  Small squeeze bottles (available at DK)  with a tip, sponge roller with a handle,  sea sponges

Demo –  *Golden-air brush medium, * Liquitex flow-aid. (I will show how to use these to make high flow paint). The air-brush medium is the important one.hance to finally use it).

Brushes–  Princeton brown handled flat chiseled edge brush, small round brush.  You are welcome to bring the brushes that you have. The goal is that you have a medium firm brush and a soft brush.

Arrachme, a published award winning artist with current work in world museums shares aspects of the art world.  Bring questions to class. Students say is that she is gifted with a gentle nurturing approach that encourages more freedom and opportunity for creativity.  Arrachme utilizes written material alongside visual demonstrations in class with the understanding that all people learn from different access points. Learn how to use up some paints from your overflowing supply closet. Get the chemistry recipe! We will work flat most of the time.
