Nappi University of Medicine Syracuse New York -Permanent Collection -2023
The University of Medicine Nappi building of Upstate New York selects six original paintings from a villager. Arrachme is a professional fine artist, and V.P. of Outstanding Art, Inc. This is a groundbreaking ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of the state-of-the-art medical facility that will feature the advancement of Alzheimer’s studies as well as other important research. The university is in Upstate New York. Arrachme was selected because part of her family has lived in the area for two generations.
Kathy Hochul, the first female and 57th governor of New York State stressed the importance of this new type of research center as it will not only do important research, but it will be a facility for all the people to attend. Dr. King spoke about the importance of the new facility. Carol Nappi, the major contributor explained that the building is mainly for Alshimer’s research but much much more will be studied in the new state-of-the-art building.
Arrachme got involved because for many years her work in the arts worldwide has been dedicated to environmental and humanitarian efforts. Her paintings regardless of the image whether moving abstracted seascapes or bright colors in flowing water gardens bring forth a peaceful feeling. She uses a layering process of very thin glazes. The developed transparency is subtle, like the abstract painting of the master artist, Mark Rothko of the 50s, which used a chemical process of paint interaction. When layered on a canvas, it evoked a visceral reaction in the viewer. The goal was for them to feel strong emotions.
Arrachme says that the project took a year of presentation and communications resulting in final acceptance into the university project. It is a great honor to have my work in their permanent collection. They acknowledge that art is a vital part of the healing process. They want both patience and staff to have every chance possible for the surroundings to support an experience of wellness. Arrachme considers being a part of this family as one of the greatest achievements in her art career.
