In this class, you’ll explore easy methods for creating abstract paintings that transform your approach from simply applying paint to achieving successful, captivating artwork. Prepare your artistic away from home space with the essentials:
- Table Setup: We use the same simple supplies that follow, in most classes.
- Canvas: Any rectangular larger than a apx 18 x 24 will work larger
- Paper Towels: Essential for dabbing and blending, ensuring your colors harmonize effortlessly. Absolute must.
- Palette Paper: Provide the perfect surface for mixing your palette of aquatic shades.
- Easel: Elevate your painting experience with the support of a sturdy easel.
- Plastic table cloth: dollar store
- Container for water: Larger than a cup
- Paint colors–
- Amsterdam has a wide variety of small tubes to choose from that are very inexpensive but high quality.
- white – artist loft brand or Amsterdam titanium white
- black – Amsterdam
- plus any 3 colors that you prefer. I used different blues, red, orange- Amsterdam brand. (I used ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, permanent blue violet),
- or dioxazine purple from the Liquitex brand
- Brushes –1- a soft wash brush, a firmer flat chiseled edge acrylic brush (long brown handle Princeton) , 2 – firm acrylic flat brush, a 1” chip brush, 1- liner brush, round pottery sponge or a tiny fan brush
- Charcoal stick : for sketching
- Painter’s tape: commiserate to the size of the canvas. This is very important.
- Round Potter Sponge: round, soft and yellow
