Article #21 – If Not Now Then When?

by Arrachme – The Art Lady

I met with a lovely lady that recently moved to The Villages. We will name her Grace to preserve her anonymity.  She desired to transform her home into a comfortable reflection of her aesthetic. We worked carefully to choose art that expressed her unique and sophisticated voice. After the project was complete, she shared an interesting story that occurred at a dinner party. It was a query from a guest. She said, “Why would you invest in fine art late in life? Grace answered, “If not now, then when? In my opinion, the guest’s comment confirmed two things for Grace. The guest assumed the art was very expensive and of high quality just by its visual appearance. It confirmed to Grace that she had chosen the right paintings.

Later In Life

As mature adults we are free. We have the time to live a bold happy active life. Abundant finances are available to make our surroundings more comfortable. Conformity and restraints derived from lack and limitation melt away.  We simply care less about comparing ourselves to others. We are liberated!

Recent world events have caused us to travel less, therefore, a comfortable personalized home might be at the forefront of our minds. We, as a part of humanity, may be faced with more reasons to stay home due to environmental changes or events that are out of our control. If we travel, we can rely on the good feeling that says, “I am so glad to be back in my beautiful home. “

“Home sweet home This is a place to find happiness. If one does not find it here, one does not find it anywhere.” ~M.K. Soni

When you stand in your rooms and look around, can you honestly say, “Yes, this is who I am?  My voice rings loud and clear.”  If not, maybe it is time to start with a piece of fine art. Be bold. Strategically place five to six pieces of large fine art around your home. It can transform moderate happiness into extraordinary happiness. If an artist has a design background or relies on the visual design aspects when creating fine art, they should be able to help you with the placement of those pieces. This article might pique questions to ask yourself.

See included my painting that is uniquely named Suberbia 1.  It derives from my series that reflects the occurrences of people moving as a large group due to the shifting land masses or caused by events. It has already been acknowledged by being curated into the exhibition, -“Life and Peace Under the Sun”, The Atashzard Art Gallery in Tehran 2023.
