Classic Rolling Wave – The Villages Enrichment Academy

Paint the classic rolling wave seascape on a soft rectangular canvas. This will be a fun step-by-step experience of the wave and its surrounding flowing water. Step inside the rolling water to paint its translucent ceiling. Your goal will be to have powerful water feel like it is moving rapidly. This is not as simple as it looks so come prepared to have a lot of fun and learn a unique approach. All levels are welcome. I did NOT paint the background orange however if you have the Daler Rowney cadmium orange and would like to paint your canvas a very very thin watered-down orange you can. Do not use other orange paint and make sure that you do this where the paint dries overnight before class.
- Acrylics, paint brushes, and the basic supply list. A successful seascape does require the correct supplies.
- Paint – Liquitex – dark hooker green,
- Paint- Amsterdam alizarin crimson, phthalo green -yellow shade.
- Paint – Golden brand high-flow paint- phthalo blue-green shade.Tiny bottle
- White -I use the liquidy artist loft, black, ultramarine – Amsterdam paintings are fine.
- Brushes- You will need an angled brush, a flat chiseled edge. Super important to have firm acrylic brushes. You will use more than one. You can tell because they are not soft. Brushes – tiny fan brush, liner brush
- Sponges are very important- a soft round yellow pottery sponge, and a sea sponge that is not tiny ( It needs to have the points on the side)
- Please scroll down to the words basic supplies to see the very simple shortlist. Basic supplies are things you reuse for every class like a water bucket, paper towels, palette paper (no paper plates please), etc.
