What Is The Modern Relationship Between Galleries and Artists?

Open Letter to All Inquiring Galleries

Clear written understanding of what is expected by all participants is one way to avoid conflict.  Any deviation from that creates confusion and mistrust.

There is a debate amongst artists that galleries have shifted from promoting their artists to promoting themselves with the intention of only selling wall space and artist are on to this. I can see more cooperatives being formed by artist to cut out these pay to play galleries by putting on shows themselves.  Generally speaking, seems to be a disconnect between artist, gallery and qualified buyer.  When an artist travels away from home base to do a show, the gallery should heavily promote the artist that they are representing in the district where the show is being held otherwise, if unknown, the artist will go unrecognized and will be bypassed by the buyer who maybe more impressed by, “the big name”.  A buzz about the artist or artists has to be generated if there is to be success.

Arrachme is a loyal person who puts integrity, honesty and grace above all else.  She believes that reputation is the most valuable asset one can have in both personal and professional life.  She is a dependable person to collaborate with but again, I stress, clear understanding of what is expected and good honest fairness is all she demands.  If she agrees to do something, she can be depended on to follow through.  She has a very strong work ethic, loves working on her art and is ever searching to discover her next creative collection.
We look forward to the next step of formally adding Arrachme to your stable of artists and learning more about your new project.

Peter is my best friend, my teacher, my muse and my greatest supporter.
I learned one thing in all the years of study that is the foundation for success, “agreement”.  All living things are a part of this continuous circle. If an agreement is broken then the circle becomes a jagged line therefore if there is ever a problem I look within first to see if I have broken an agreement. Usually it is one I have made with myself. It could be as simple as brushing my teeth. Once a new agreement is made the circle can flow again. It is this philosophy that I credit to my success in life and true lasting friendships.
